Although I don't follow it religiously, the book entitled "The Bro Code" does make some valid points.
Written by writer for the show "How I Met Your Mother", Matt Kuhn and fictional character Barney Stinson, this book attempts to outline certain unspoken rules that men must follow between other men, or "Bro's".
ARTICLE 1: Bro's before ho's.
The bond between two men is stronger than the bond between a man and a woman because, on average, men are stronger than women. That's just science.
...
What I get from this is that no matter what, the bond that you have with a friend is stronger than that of a significant other. Aside from the true, but sexist statement, he does have a point. Girlfriends can be lost just as fast as they are gained. Friendships last much longer.
It also points out that, when there's a decision to be made between the two, ALWAYS go with the friend. If you should choose the girl, you'll have lost a friend and, eventually, suffer a broken heart whereas if you were to just choose the friend, all you'd have is that broken heart. If she says "It's either me or your friend", smack her in the face, AND THEN dump her bitch ass.
Love and Ciao,
Awesome.
